We meet our Girls

We have the best two daughters to be that a person can ask for. When we walked in the orpanage today we heard a voice calling out and there comes Marina running down the hall. What a greeting. Hugs and kisses for both of us. Yana was brought into the directors office with a smile from one ear to the other. She was so nervous she was out of breath. More hugs and kisses. Yana is overwhelmed that we want to adopt her. She is so excited that she is coming to America and coming home. We visited with Gelina, the director for about an hour then off the 3 of us went (no Marina) into a room. Then they sent for Marina. She came in crying. She had been told that she is not registered. We spent time talking to her, but nothing was going to change the situation. We told her we loved her and she is our daughter. We will get her. Then the good old game "UNO" saved the day. We laughed, Rick cheated, Marina followed Rick's footsteps (definately his daughter) and we all laughed. Victor our facilitator is great. He has a great sense of humor, really loves the children, and gave peace to everyone. We spent a great afternoon together. When we left we got more hugs, more kisses. We will see them tomorrow, Saturday.

About Marina. She has a file at the SDA, they would not review it with us. She was registed in 1999 and has a file number and a letter verifying the records were sent to the SDA, the SDA claims they don't have it. The SDA says they have checked and rechecked but says they can't find her file. The file that has been misplaced is preventing us from taking her home. We are praying that a higher authority will intervene and hear our plea. We are looking for her 1999 status to be reinstated, to allow us to take her home. Pray for a miracle.
Thank you all for your prayers, we feel your presence in our calmness.

Ice cold and freezing,
Rick and Fran

Fran and Rick,

So overjoyed to hear of your time with your girls! God has led you by the Holy Spirit thus far and His name is Faithful and True !!! Deliverence from Egypt, the Red Sea, the Jordon River and the Walls of Jericho were all too great for God's people but not for their God! He is the same yesterday, today and forever!

In Christ,
Tiffany

Rick and Fran, I will pray for you and Yana and Marina! The words of a kids' song come to mind: My God is so big, so strong and so mighty; there's nothing my God cannot do!

You are standing on solid rock. We pray, wait and rejoice at what our God is doing!

So glad you were received so warmly by your daughters. I'm sure they feel the love you have for them and can see that God is at work in your lives and theirs. Things change like the wind in Ukraine and we know who controls the wind of change so be hopeful and steadfast in your prayers. We serve a big God who knows and is and will be forever! No file will stand in His way!
Love you all,
Rob and Laura and boys

I keep remembering that "Experiencing God" lesson about asking for "God Sized" answers . . . so we can be absolutely certain it was His answer. The good news is, the miraculous is His business . . . no trouble at all for a Mighty God. We're praying and believing with you.
Love & Blessings . . .

We're praying that the file date will be honored. At least there is a file!
We'll be following your progress. We will be very interested in anything you find out.

We leave for Kiev on Sunday.

Rick and Fran,
It was good to talk to you today. Persistance and prayer will see you through. Hurry up and bring those 2 girls home, we need more available babysitters. We don't want to burn out the Hathaway girls. Dress warm!

Fran & Rick,

You will have to do whatever the Lord has in store for you. You are blessed. You may have to go back someday, but God does perform miracles. All we can do is pray and ask for His divine intervention. It is great that the girls seem to be a part of you and in your lives already. We will continue keeping you in our prayers...

Love, Dale & Debbie

Dear Fran abd Rick,
It was so wonderful to read of your reunion with your girls! never forget that the God who hung the moon and stars in the sky is holding your family in the palm of His mighty hand and He knows the plans he has for each of you. He is still in the miracle business! We are praying that lives will be touched and hearts changed as the people in Ukraine see your living testimony as you wait for your next miracle!

Rick & Fran,

My heart sunk when I pictured Marina's disappointment. Brought back so many memories of Vika when we were there. We know God has a reason but sometimes we wish we could see what he can see unfolding in the future. Sure would make it easier.

We pray for understanding, patience, love, and hope in everything that you experience and do over there. And God has put a blessing in your path by the name of Victor. Please give him our love and let him know we miss him. We are so glad God has placed him there with you.

Hang on!!
Love, Gary & Beverly
