Dear Mr. and Mrs. Rahn,
Hope all is well.
I am sending you a draft of the letter that Mr. McFarlane would like to submitt to the officials in the Ukraine and we hope it will be helpful to you.
Please notice that there are some "?" marks left in this letter ( regarding Yana's information.)
We will appreciate if you advise us on her information so we can forward this letter right away.

Many thanks,

Tanya

Dear

I am writing to ask for your consideration in granting a waiver of the one-year waiting period with regard to the pending application by Mr. and Mrs Richard RAHN to adopt Marina PANSKAJA. The essential facts are as follows.

Mr and Mrs RAHN came to Ukraine in February, 2007 and met two children (Marine PANSKAJA and Yana ???, at the ?? orphanage. They subsequently completed the Home Study course and have been approved and registered on the Ukrainian Adoption Registry (SDA). (Their Invitation number is I.D. D-01239). A completed file prepared by Ukrainian Adoption Authorities exists for Yana ???. Unfortunately the first file prepared for Marina PANSKAJA in 1999 was lost while pending approval at the National Adoption Center. A second file, prepared in March, 2007, by the Inspector of Adoptions in Berdyansk, is now pending in Priazovsk. After the file is approved and sent to the National Adoption Center (SDA) in Kiev, a one-year waiting period begins.

The completed papers on Yana ??? make her eligible for adoption at the end of the RAHN’s waiting period in March 2008. They would like to adopt both children at the same time in March, 2008. Marina PANSKAJA is 13 years old and has been eligible for eight years. Thus this request for your assistance in accelerating the approval of Ms. PANSKAJA’s eligibility and a waiver of the one-year waiting requirement.

Mr. and Mrs RAHN are in Kiev now and will have their interview with adoption authorities on Wednesday, December 5.

Thank you in advance for your consideration.

Sincerely,

Robert C. McFarlane

This post is for Tanya:
We are friends of Fran and Rick in Wmbg and may have the information you need to complete the letter for them. Yana's last name: Piskun and the orphanage is Berdyansk Children's Home and School, Berdyansk, Zaporizhia.

If this info suffices, perhaps you can complete it and email it to them. They should be in Kyiv and perhaps checking email for the first time since leaving on Tuesday, 4 Dec.

With thanks for your assistance to them,
Jean & Jim Henry
